The Frederik Hendriklaan is one of the more famous shoppingstreets in The Hague and is famous under the locals. It is a large street in the ‘Statenkwartier’ neighborhood. They have a lot of clothingshops, but also a lot of foodshops foor cheese and vegetables. They offer a lot of choices to have lunch or dinner. One of my favorites to have dinner is ‘Hudson bar & kitchen’ they have the best burgers! Also Flavorz is one the of the places I could recommend, here you can sit outside (if the weather allows it) and enjoy a good lunch, or have some ribs for dinner. For the little ones they have a small playground at the beginning of the street.
The ‘Gemeentemuseum’ and ‘Museon’ are around the cornor which makes it easy to combine a little shopping with a museumtrip.
Fahrenheitstraat & Thomsonlaan
The Fahrenheitstraat is a small street in the ‘Valkenboskwartier’ neighbourhood. It has a lot of small shops with clothes, gifts, but also shops where you can buy cheese, fish and other daily shops. When you get hungry from all the shopping there are also a lot of places to have lunch. At the end of the street there is a small park for a nice walk and also there are two small playground for the little ones.
Reinkenstraat is also a typical Dutch shoppingstreet. A lot of small shops and a lot of shops for groceries and again a lot of places to have lunch and dinner. One of the places I could recommened is ‘Proeflokaal Bregje’. From monday to wednesday you can get a three course many for just € 12,50 and from thursday to Sunday for € 14,50. The menu has a lot of choices (also vegetarian) and is very good. Besides that the have a terras where you can enjoy the food in the sun.
The Weimarstraat is a shoppingstreet in the ‘Valkenboskwartier’ neighboorhood. It is famous for it’s multicultural shops and specialties. You can let yourself be surprised by specialties from a wide range of countries. There are several places to have lunch and a theater to enjoy a show. The theater is situated in an old building which used to house a swimmingpool. Around the corner in the Galileistraat there is a small secret garden called Emma’s hof. Here you can get a little peace in a busy city and the kids can play. The garden is maintained by the neighborhood and sometimes they organize little event in the garden.
