Prisoner’s Gate

The Hague’s motto is peace and justice. The Prisoner’s Gate is a museum which will give you an insight on how justice was preserved in the previous centuries. It gives a lot off insight on the (sometimes dark) history of justice and prisoners. They don’t only tell you the history, but also have old instruments of correction.┬áThe gate was originally used as an entrance to the castle of the Counts of Holland. Later it was used as a prison and turned into a museum in 1882.
